I don't recall why, but he recently got into some trouble that necessitated
discipline from me, his father.
In a stern way I explained to him that if his negative actions continued there would be consequences. I thought my message was clear. Apparently it was not.
A short time later another ruckus occurred. I walked into the room to discover Garrett is again the guilty party. More sternly this time I explain to him this behavior will not be tolerated. I explain how only a few moments prior I had discussed this very same issue with him to no avail.
I continued with my discipline saying, "if you do not obey the rules as you are asked to do I will spank your tail do you understand me?"
At this point we're practically nose to nose and Garrett seems to be starring ME down as he says "No, no I don't understand."
I tried not to blow a gasket. No? That's not the answer I was looking for. Through clenched teeth I muttered "what in the world do you mean you don't understand?"
Garrett returned my steely glare and said, "I don't have a tail."
He had a point. I tried not to laugh. I was not successful.
