Whachu durrin' hatin' on me like that?

It could be that I should have titled this entry "African-American lesbian hates on gay white male nurse/clergyman/comic," but that would really be too long.

I read an interesting article in the on line edition of The Lexington Herald Leader about comedian Shirley Q. Liquor.

Shirley Q is the alter ego of comic impersonator Chuck Knipp of Lexington.

Knipp uses the moniker, Shirley Q. Liquor as he performs at comedy clubs around the country.

The article describes Shirley Q. as a "black welfare mamma," and goes on to talk about Knipp's act in which he talks about Shirley Q's 19 children and asks "who is mybabydaddy?"

Jasmyne Cannick, described in the story as an "African American lesbian," is offended by Knipp's act and recently "launched a national campaign to ban Shirley Q. Liquor from public clubs."
