I'm none too excited about going back to work. That's my status update for the next several days or maybe even weeks.
Now don't get me wrong. I'm thankful for a great job with a great company. That is for sure, but still I'm none too excited about resuming work on Monday.
I was off all last week. I visited family and friends. I slept late. I stayed in my fleece pajamas until nearly noon. (I'm sure you are all aware of the healing quality of fleece pj's.) I went out to dinner with friends. I celebrated and I stayed up late. I watched football, MAN DID I WATCH FOOTBALL. It was a wonderful week for me.
All that being said, I'm none too excited about the prospect of going to work on Monday. I have already done some strategic planning in my head in an effort to let my brain know there WILL BE WORK on Monday. It's kind of like the short flash before the big flash in the photo, you know, red eye reduction of sorts.
I worked at least one full day from home during my vacation but that's not really work. It's not like the big flash I'll receive on Monday. That was just a little more red eye reduction. (Insert deep sigh here and a whew for good measure.)
I know I'm going to have to take my medicine. I KNOW Monday will come and I WILL go back to work. I WILL be able to make it. I can stand the flash. I'm pretty sure I can stand the flash. I think I can, I think I can.
So I guess I'll see you out there on Monday, you know, in the REAL world. I'll be the one squinting in the photo because I simply just wasn't ready for the flash.
Happy New Year!
